The call for applications for the Fabrique Cinéma 2025 is now open! [fr]

La Fabrique Cinéma is a programme created by the Institut français, in partnership with France Médias Monde and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie. Its aim is to promote the emergence of young filmmakers from the countries of the South on the international market. Set up in 2009 in close collaboration with the Cannes Film Festival and its Marché du Film, La Fabrique Cinéma of the Institut français selects ten 1st or 2nd feature film projects in development each year to present them and introduce them to the industry and its decision-makers during the Cannes Film Festival, thereby encouraging their development.

Part of the programme will be held online from mid-April, and part in person throughout the Cannes Festival. The director and local producer of the selected project will be invited to Cannes. Participants benefit from a comprehensive programme and personalised support. The aim of the programme is to make concrete progress on projects and their financing, with individual and group meetings with the industry. It also includes discussions with the La Fabrique sponsor and a schedule of meetings with French and international producers.

The international call for applications is currently open and available in French and English on the Institut français website https://www.institutfrancais.com/fr/offre/la-fabrique-cinema and on the Cinémas du Monde website: https://www.lescinemasdumonde.com/fr/appel-a-candidatures until Tuesday 5 November 2024 at the latest.

Each year, the numerus clausus is 110 eligible applications, which are examined by a selection committee made up of professionals from the sector (scriptwriters, filmmakers, editors, consultants, programmers, committee members and members of national and international cultural and/or cinematographic institutions), resulting in a shortlist of 10 projects.
