"Currents of the World" Programme for Foreign and Anglophone Cultural Professionals - Cultural Third Places and Innovative Models
Currents of the world is a welcome programme for foreign cultural professionals wishing to enrich their knowledge of the French cultural landscape.
This program is aimed at English-speaking foreign professionals. 10-day collective itinerary, from March 17 to 27, 2025, it is organized around the theme «Cultural third places and innovative models».
Cultural third places, which are flourishing today in France, offer collaborative models combining culture, work, creativity, mutual aid, social inclusion and space rehabilitation. They are identified as hybrid physical places where everyone is invited to participate, to train, to share their knowledge and culture. Whatever their form - artistic and cultural wasteland, shared craft workshop, incubators, fablab, coworking site, solidarity garage, etc. - they are today intermediary spaces of social inclusion and culture anchored in the heart of the territories.
Objectives of the approach
The objective of this 10-day collective program is to allow participants to meet different leaders and actors of innovative places in France, to learn about the implementation of remarkable initiatives, but also to exchange on their mutual practices and to weave a network of shared tools and reflections.
The «Cultural Third Places and Innovative Models» programme will be built around thematic days that will address the following questions: participation, mediation and cultural rights; public policies; economic models and cooperation with local authorities; rehabilitation of buildings; cultural and economic revitalization of a territory in particular. It will be adapted according to the profile of the candidates gathered under this program.
Selection of candidates: first half of December 2024
Transmission to the cultural services of the French embassies and to the French institutes of the final list of successful candidates: end of December 2024
Duration of stay in France: 17 to 27 March 2025
