Funding Opportunity for Malaysian NGOs Involved in Environmental Protection and the Fight Against Climate Change

The French government has a strong commitment towards environmental protection and the fight against climate change. Within this context, the Embassy of France to Malaysia is launching a call for Malaysian NGOs/associations or local branches of international NGOs working in the areas of: environmental conservation (marine, forest, etc.), biodiversity protection, wildlife conservation, pollution, sustainability, environmental justice, etc.

Presentation and scope of the call:

- This call targets projects carried out by NGOs or associations based in Malaysia and working at a local scale.
- Funding will be provided for one year. The possibility to extend it for an additional year will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- Requested allocations shall not exceed 35 000 MYR; grants will be awarded after signature of an agreement with the Embassy.

Grant application and evaluation process:

- Applicants must follow the instructions and calendar indicated in the call.
- Applications will be assessed by an internal committee set up by the Embassy, based on their expected impact in terms of environmental protection.
- Involvement of local communities, participation of young people and gender equality are highly encouraged.
- Co-funding by Malaysian or international institutions is a plus.
