UniKL, Arts et Métiers ParisTech and Snecma (Safran) sign MoU to enhance Human Capital development in Malaysia [fr]

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Arts et Métiers ParisTech (Higher Education Institute acting in the fields of Technology, Science, Culture and Professional Education) and Snecma (Safran) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 17 March 2015 at the LIMA Airshow in Langkawi to promote the collaboration between universities and industry, to support and grow each other Human Capital, Businesses and Interests in South East Asia.

Through this strategic collaboration, UniKL, Arts et Métiers ParisTech and Snecma will develop a key strategy to implement a cooperation between Academia & Industry centered on the institutions of higher education run by UniKL & Arts et Métiers ParisTech , based on a solid curriculum of technical courses. Designed to meet aerospace industry requirements, this program will be recognized by leading international players. The main objective of the collaboration between UniKL, Arts et Métiers ParisTech and Snecma (Safran) is to help expand Malaysia’s position in the global aerospace industry supply chain, by developing the appropriate human capital, technological skills and spirit of entrepreneurship. It also aims at building a strong aerospace industry ecosystem.

“This partnership reflects UniKL’s commitment to educating and training highly skilled and innovative young talents, in line with the government’s transformation plan and international standards. These graduate academic programs meet global industry standards, and will help Malaysia to meet its national development objectives by 2020” said Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL.

The MoU between UniKL, Arts et Métiers ParisTech and Snecma Safran could be proposed as a joint program within the scope of the offset arrangements related to the potential acquisition of the Rafale multirole fighter by the Malaysian Ministry of Defense for the Royal Military Air Force (RMAF).
