13 French companies meet PETRONAS!
The 7th edition of the Malaysian - French Oil and Gas Forum was held in Impiana KLCC Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, on the past 18th of October 2016.
It gathered 13 French SME and key players of the Oil and Gas sector, 3 multinational sponsors – TECHNIP, TOTAL and SPIE – and 100 Malaysian attendees from PETRONAS and their main PAC.
The key to this successful event has been the intense and fruitful cooperation between Business France Malaysia (French Trade Commission of the Embassy of France) and the National Oil Company PETRONAS. TECHNIP, TOTAL and SPIE, have also played a major role through their continuous support.
The 18th October’s program promoted the bilateral trades and laid equal emphasis on the latest French innovations and technologies within the Oil and Gas sector. The forum was officially opened by his Excellency Mister Christophe Penot, Ambassador of France to Malaysia, and Mr. Noor Mohamad Taj Mohammed, Head of Procurement, Group Procurement, Project Delivery & Technology – PETRONAS.
Mr. Mark Been, General Manager of TOTAL E&P Malaysia and Mr. Arnaud Pieton, President Asia Pacific of TECHNIP, outlined their respective activities within South-East Asia.
The rest of the day has been dedicated to the presentation of the French participants’ expertise classified into two thematic workshops, and followed by “Business to Business” meeting sessions. The event was then successfully closed with the presentation by PETRONAS, Registration & Licensing Department.
On the whole, those two days have eventually confirmed the French offer’s attractiveness, and enabled the creation and renewal of the links between PETRONAS and the French delegations. The participants can now rely on an insightful vision of the business practices and strategies to generate new business opportunities with PETRONAS and PAC.
