Visit to Malaysia of Mr. Matthias Fekl (13-14 April 2015) [fr]
Mr. Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the promotion of tourism and French Nationals abroad will visit Malaysia on 13 and 14 April 2015.
This visit aims to promote the French offer in the rail and urban transport sectors as Malaysia develops significant investments (light rail lines and heavy metro) and designs ambitious projects (high-speed line between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore). It will also support the innovative know-how of French companies in the field of management of marine resources and will be the occasion of the formal presentation of a feasibility study of an operational national oceanographic research center, funded by a donation of the French Treasury.
Mr. Fekl will encourage increased investment flows between our two countries, including strengthening working relationships between respective institutional partners (MIDA and MATRADE for Malaysia, CCIFM and BUSINESS France for France). He will indicate our desire to continue and to expand our partnership with Malaysia in the air sector (Air France, Thales), in the aircraft industry (Airbus, ATR) and in the aerospace sector (Airbus D & S and Arianespace).
Mr. Fekl will hold bilateral talks with the Malaysian Minister of Transport, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of nuclear power and innovation, as well as with his counterpart in charge of trade and industry. He will also meet with the Chairman of the National Transport Commission (SPAD), with whom he will co-chair a bilateral economic seminar on rail and urban transport in the presence of French companies and Malaysian partners.
Mr. Fekl will lead a working session on promoting the image of France as a tourist destination, organized jointly with the Franco-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFM) and Atout France.
Finally, he will open and co-chair with his Malaysian counterpart the ceremony and the gala dinner of the 25th anniversary of the CCIFM.
