Francophony day at HELP CAT
On the 22nd of March, nearly 800 students (schools and universities), from 10 states of Malaysia (including Sabah and Sarawak) gathered at Help College of Art and Technology for a day dedicated to french language and multiculturalism.
The Ambassador of France, M. Christophe Penot, opened this day by encouraging the students to continue their efforts in learning French language.
In the morning, movies from Canada, Moroccon Belgium, Mauritius and Egypt were screened in French with subtitles in English.
In the afternoon, a funny quiz was organised by the Embassy of France to test the knowledge of the students on the specificities of French speaking countries.
A prize ceremony has been also organised to award the great achievements of the students for the jomfrancais competition on Instagram (@jomfrancais) with representatives from the Ministry of education of Malaysia.
At the end of the day, a talk with the Ambassador of Belgium, His Excellency D. Dargent and the High commissioner of Mauritius I. Patel has been organised to allow students to ask them questions on their countries.
