Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française (DELF)
Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (DALF)
The French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research offers a wide range of certifications to assess French language skills, from the first levels to the most advanced ones.
The offer is adapted to all publics and ages. It covers 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
A1 and A2 : basic
B1 and B2 : independent
C1 and C2 : proficient
The diplomas are independent and assess 4 linguistic skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.
They are valid for life.
DELF/DALF in Malaysia
These diplomas are placed under the authority of the DELF/DALF national commission of the Centre International d’Etudes Pédagogiques (CIEP).
Locally, these diplomas are under the authority of the Cultural Service of the Embassy of France; and the Alliance Française of Kuala Lumpur coordinates them.
The diplomas offered in Malaysia are the following: DEFL/DALF Tous publics, DELF Junior, DELF Scolaire and DELF Prim.
With 49 official examination centres, including 45 for the DELF scolaire, and more than 2 700 candidates in 2016, the DELF/DALF diplomas are deeply established in Malaysia.
DELF/DALF calendar in Malaysia
• DELF/DALF Tous Publics: 3 sessions (March, June, November)
• DELF Junior: 1 sessions (June)
• DELF Scolaire: 1 session (Septembrer)
• DELF Prim: 2 sessions. 1 session at Lycée Français of Kuala Lumpur, only for pupils from this primary school (May) and 1 session et the Alliances Françaises of Kuala Lumpur and of Penang, open to all candidates (June)
