A successful French Art & Film Festival 2015 [fr]
The 14th edition of the French Art & Film Festival (FAFF) was held from 14 May to 16 June 2015 in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Co-organised by Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur and the Embassy of France in Malaysia and supported by the Institut Français, the festival marks a momentum for French culture in Malaysia by showcasing the best of cinema, performing and visual arts, thus promoting exchanges between our two countries.
The highly successful 2015 edition attracted over 9,000 spectators within the frame of 10 events. The festival kick-started with the traditional film festival - this year, 15 recent releases such as Beauty & the Beast and Serial Bad Weddings were presented in GSC theatres. Imagine France, a photography exhibition by Maia Flore was presented at the White Box gallery in MAP Publika. The festival also welcomed talented French artists: dancers from the Pierre Rigal company for the contemporary piece Standards, classical pianist Célimène Daudet at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, DJ Oof with audio-visual performance Cinemix and the band Gran Kino as a main act for the Fête de la Musique.
Presented by Martell, the festival is supported by Accor, Air France, Aesop, Citroën, Château de Lafont, AGS Four Winds, BNP Paribas, DCNS, Escatec, Intermovers and Total.
